About Us in Clothing

Coming from 3 generations of tailoring and clothing retail, we have evolved into a vertical manufacturing solution in fashion. We have been in trade in South Africa since 1936 and over the years have extended our reach into the SADC region.

Our Clothing Footprint

A short history tells the story of our manufacturing footprint. The Late 60’s brought about our outerwear manufacturing boom, and by the early 90’s, we went into underwear, socks and knitwear. This prompted us at the turn of the century to enter into the textile manufacturing sector, and thus we acquired our own mills. We successfully grew, with 4 manufacturing facilities doing garments, and two mills concentrating on fabric manufacture, and sock knitting respectively.

Africa and the world over has since evolved into the digital age and we have had to conform to its changes. With world markets opening up to us, it made our facilities more challenging to run for local production with our labor costs and depleting skill level. Export doors were closed but the local market was worth holding onto and showing growth.

We evolved further and extended our Supplier reach into India and the Far east, into ISO 9000 textile suppliers, and smaller ones hungry for export, who supported our demanding needs. Relationships were built with companies that manufactured on the highest standard and we engaged further into quality superior outerwear merchandise.

Historically, we supplied high quality outerwear garments and underwear to the local chain stores with their branding, and continued in our own brands into the smaller independents and mini chains.

Over the years with a depleting local manufacturing demand and imports grabbing the lions share of available local production, we evolved into a new direction.

Production & Engineering

We Currently facilitate production engineering projects for, clothing textile, and other related industries, spearheaded by our current director, a specialist in most spheres of manufacturing. Our textile and production engineering division started to grow substantially. An area of our business that has brought about exponential growth and grown our network throughout Africa. We now see the market as having the need for specialist who can train, facilitate and empower smaller or large manufacturers to grow their businesses and create employment opportunities for the country and continent at large. We provide technology upgrades and ancillary equipment and yarn.

“Our journey still continues locally and internationally,

and we hope to re-invent ourselves

further and beyond”
